Working on a new poetry form
Alphabetic poem
Did not realize how difficult it would be to write a poem using every letter of alphabet
Writing a line starting with every letter in order .. Stuck at H gah!!!
This is what I’ve got so far:
Antique family diary
Bound in black leather
Crest engraved on cover
Dust inches thick reveal age
Edges of pages lined with gold
Fancy ribbon to mark the pages
Generations of family bonds
Heirloom from another time
Initials written in fountain pen

Kept away from prying eyes
Love letters tucked away in pages
Memories of the best and worse of times
No one outside the circle knows what is inside
Once a year someone fingers the cover
Preserved upon an old oak shelf
Quill made of dove feather sits beside it
Rose petals pressed in the leather safe
Scents of old perfumes mark the pages
Treasure so priceless with no monetary value
